Legendary five-time Grammy Award winner Angélique Kidjo will this week present her latest symphonic project, African Symphony at the Kennedy Center.

Angelique, who  will be collaborating with acclaimed arranger Derrick Hodge (Robert Glasper, Common, Jill Scott),  promises a unique symphonic show that pays homage to the rich tapestry of African musical heritage.

African Symphony showcases a collection of timeless songs that have not only resonated across the African continent but have also left an indelible mark on the global stage. From the iconic sounds of legends such as Miriam Makeba, Fela Kuti, and Youssou N’Dour to the contemporary brilliance of artists like Rema and Burna Boy, this symphonic project celebrates the profound impact of African music on the world.
